What is obesity in the United States of America?

Obesity is a disease that affects a vast population in the United States, especially children, and the minority population. Poor Communities have a majority of overweight or obese. In those communities there are more fast food restaurants than healthy restaurants or stores. As it is said in the recent campaign to fight against obesity, Let’s move, there is a “food desert” in less favorable communities in the United States of America. The solution lies within every person, every business, and every supermarket. It is about making healthy food more available in those places.
The types of healthy food that can be part of the diet to avoid being obese can be very wide. It is all about making the right choice when it comes to food.


What is the right choice of food?

Right food choice can be anything like eating more vegetables, eating more fruits. Cooking your own food instead of eating out. The right choice of foods is about thinking about what you put in your mouth before you indulge it.

In the United States of America snacking is a part of the eating habit. Snacks help anyone go through the day in the wait of the next meal. But most of the time people do not pay great attention to what they snack. They go to the vending machine, get the pack of chips or the chocolate bar and off they go.

Snack is also one of the most important “meals” of the day. The right choice has to be made. Indulging a snack which is high in sugar will only give you the boost for a certain period of time and leave you to want more after an hour.

In order to have a proper diet and avoid being overweight one should properly eat, and properly snack. Some snacks that are considered healthy and keep you full until the next meal are nuts, fruits, and dried fruits. Those types of snacks are healthy and contain good vitamins.
